Membership Procedure

Taken from Greene Acres Community Garden Bylaws

Prospective garden members must complete 15 hours of garden work during open hours (if you cannot make open hours, contact a garden member to arrange another time to work). There is usually a list of things that need to be done, from picking up trash and pulling weeds, to filling the water barrels or watering the trees. Larger landscaping chores are also listed. Let the garden monitor know that you are working towards membership and have him/her write down your hours on the calendar in the shed.

When you have completed 15 hours of chores and gotten to know the garden, you should come to a garden meeting and ask to join the garden (get a key) and put your name on the waiting list for open plots. It is up to you to keep track of your hours and ask the membership coordinator about upcoming meetings.
